Are you a hands-on Engineering Technician with a keen eye for detail and a passion for testing and product development? We're recruiting for an Engineering Technician to join a growing engineering team, supporting the development and reliability testing of innovative electronic products.

Reporting to the Product Engineering Manager, you'll play a key role in preparing, testing, and analysing new and existing products to ensure they meet the highest quality and reliability standards. Key Responsibilities

• Carry out daily equipment checks and basic maintenance to ensure reliable test operation.
• Prepare product samples for testing, including marking, board mounting, and preconditioning.
• Perform electrical, thermal, and mechanical reliability testing on products within specified timeframes.
• Conduct detailed visual inspections using microscopes to identify defects and product issues.
• Design, build, and maintain test boards and fixtures used for product testing.
• Edit and maintain test programmes for automated test equipment.
• Record, analyse, and maintain test results using Microsoft Excel and engineering documentation systems.
• Manage wafer sample storage, ensuring accurate logging and traceability of materials.
• Support product development activities by providing accurate test data and technical feedback.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, quality, and health & safety within the laboratory and testing areas.
• Work closely with engineering teams to support ongoing product development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience

• GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths, English, and a Science subject, are preferred.
• Previous experience in an engineering, electronics, manufacturing, or cleanroom environment is desirable.
• Experience preparing test samples or carrying out product testing would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with soldering techniques and building test fixtures.
• Good understanding of health & safety procedures and the importance of PPE compliance.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Positive, proactive attitude with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Flexible approach to supporting testing activities when required.
