English Teacher
Prospero Teaching is working with a secondary school in the Andover area to recruit a qualified and enthusiastic English Teacher (QTS) for a September start. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive department at the beginning of the academic year, with the role initially available for one term and the potential for extension.
You will be responsible for teaching English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4, supporting pupils of mixed abilities to develop their literacy skills and achieve strong academic outcomes. The school is open to both experienced teachers and confident ECTs.
This position would suit a teacher looking for a secure start in September, with flexibility and the possibility of a longer-term opportunity.
The Role:
- Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4
- Plan and deliver engaging, structured lessons
- Assess and track pupil progress, providing clear feedback
- Support pupils of varying abilities to achieve strong outcomes
- Maintain high expectations of behaviour and engagement
- Contribute to departmental planning and collaboration
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong subject knowledge in English
- Experience teaching at secondary level
- Confident classroom practitioner
- Effective behaviour management skills
- Organised and committed to delivering high standards
- Suitable for experienced teachers and ECTs
Contract Details:
- Position: English Teacher (QTS)
- Location: Andover
- Start Date: September
- Working Pattern: Full-time
- Contract Length: Initially one term, with potential to extend
- Pay Rate: £32,916 – £51,047 per annum (M1-U3)
- Key Stages: KS3-KS4
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
- QTS required
- Secondary English teaching experience preferred
- Safeguarding training can be provided
