REED FE are seeking an experienced English GCSE and Functional Skills Lecturer to join a great team for the academic year, starting in September. This role is ideal for someone who has a passion for teaching students aged 16 and above, helping them achieve their academic goals in English.
English GCSE and Functional Skills Lecturer
- Job Type: Full-time, Term-time only
- Duration: September until the end of the academic year
- Location: HRUC College Group
- Salary: £30 – £35 per hour (teaching), £16.59 per hour (admin)
Day-to-day of the role of a English Lecturer:
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons in English GCSE and Functional Skills to students aged 16+.
- Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials that meet curriculum standards.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to help them improve.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and progress.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the curriculum.
- Support students on a one-to-one basis through academic or pastoral advice.
Required Skills & Qualifications for the English Lecturer role:
- Proven experience as an English teacher, specifically with students aged 16+.
- Strong understanding of the GCSE and Functional Skills curriculum.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
- Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, DET, Cert Ed).
