Full-time Maternity Cover
An ambitious and high-achieving secondary school in South London is seeking a talented and passionate English Teacher to join its successful English department on a maternity cover basis from September 2026 until April 2027.
Located within easy reach of Central London and benefiting from excellent transport links, the school serves a diverse and engaged community and is recognised for its strong pastoral support, high expectations and positive learning environment.
The Role
- Teach English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Deliver engaging and challenging lessons that inspire a love of reading and writing.
- Contribute to a collaborative and successful English department.
- Support students of all abilities to achieve strong academic outcomes.
- Play an active role in the wider life of the school.

The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an overseas teaching qualification recognised by UK ENIC.
- Has the ability to deliver outstanding English lessons across the secondary age range.
- Demonstrates high expectations of achievement and behaviour.
- Is passionate about raising attainment and inspiring young people.
- ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply.
