Are you an ambitious English Teacher looking to make a genuine difference? A supportive and well-established SEMH secondary school in Southwark is seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis from September.

This rewarding opportunity is ideal for an English Teacher who is passionate about supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful English Teacher will deliver engaging and creative lessons that inspire confidence, develop literacy skills and help pupils achieve their full potential.

The Role

As an English Teacher, you will:

  • Teach English across KS3 and KS4.

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs.

  • Build positive relationships that promote confidence, resilience and academic progress.

  • Monitor student attainment and provide targeted interventions.

  • Work collaboratively with pastoral teams and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for every learner.

  • Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful English Teacher will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching English within a secondary setting.

  • A strong understanding of behaviour management and inclusive teaching strategies.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
