English Teacher – Milton Keynes

We are working alongside a successful and inclusive secondary school in Milton Keynes that is looking to appoint a committed English Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This full-time position offers both contract and permanent opportunities and would be ideal for an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) seeking to grow their career within a supportive department.
About the Role:

Teach engaging and well-structured English lessons across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 opportunities available depending on experience

Develop and deliver creative lessons that build students' skills in reading, writing, analysis, and communication

Encourage students to explore a wide range of literary texts, from classic works to modern writing

Adapt teaching approaches to support students of all abilities, including those with SEND and EAL needs

Create a classroom environment that promotes confidence, discussion, curiosity, and independent thinking

Assess student progress effectively and provide constructive feedback to support improvement

Work collaboratively with the English department to enhance curriculum delivery, literacy initiatives, and enrichment opportunities
Who We're Looking For:

A qualified English Teacher holding QTS/QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

Strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature

A creative and enthusiastic teacher who can make English accessible and engaging for all students

A confident classroom practitioner with effective behaviour management skills

A team-focused professional who is committed to improving outcomes for young people

A reflective teacher who values collaboration and continued professional development
