English Teacher – Milton Keynes

We are working alongside a successful and inclusive secondary school in Milton Keynes that is looking to appoint a committed English Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This full-time position offers both contract and permanent opportunities and would be ideal for an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) seeking to grow their career within a supportive department.

About the Role:

• Teach engaging and well-structured English lessons across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 opportunities available depending on experience

• Develop and deliver creative lessons that build students' skills in reading, writing, analysis, and communication

• Encourage students to explore a wide range of literary texts, from classic works to modern writing

• Adapt teaching approaches to support students of all abilities, including those with SEND and EAL needs

• Create a classroom environment that promotes confidence, discussion, curiosity, and independent thinking

• Assess student progress effectively and provide constructive feedback to support improvement

• Work collaboratively with the English department to enhance curriculum delivery, literacy initiatives, and enrichment opportunities

Who We're Looking For:

• A qualified English Teacher holding QTS/QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

• Strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature

• A creative and enthusiastic teacher who can make English accessible and engaging for all students

• A confident classroom practitioner with effective behaviour management skills

• A team-focused professional who is committed to improving outcomes for young people

• A reflective teacher who values collaboration and continued professional development
