About the Role
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspiring, and committed Teacher of English to join a successful and forward-thinking English department on a maternity cover basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher to contribute to a high-performing team, delivering engaging and creative lessons that foster a love of literature and language. The successful candidate will teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Inspire students to develop a passion for reading, writing, and critical thinking
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
- Participate fully in school life, including pastoral responsibilities and enrichment activities
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
- Experience teaching in a secondary school setting (ECTs welcome to apply)
- A commitment to high standards of teaching and learning
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A willingness to support the Christian ethos of the school
