We are currently engaged on an exclusive retained search with a leading global hedge fund who are looking to appoint a senior professional to its Alpha Capture team.

This is a highly strategic hire for an individual with a strong understanding of the equity long/short landscape and an established network across the hedge fund industry.

The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding and strengthening the firm's network of external managers, identifying differentiated sources of alpha, and conducting rigorous investment due diligence on contributors globally.

The Role

This role offers direct exposure to senior investment decision-makers within a world-class hedge fund and the opportunity to contribute to an established Alpha Capture platform.

Working closely with portfolio managers and quantitative teams, you will help identify high-quality external managers, assess investment opportunities, and translate differentiated insights into actionable investment ideas.

Responsibilities:

1. Identify and engage equity long/short managers with differentiated and repeatable alpha generation capabilities.
2. Develop and maintain relationships with external investment managers across the global hedge fund community.
3. Conduct detailed qualitative and quantitative due diligence on prospective contributors.
4. Evaluate investment processes, portfolio construction methodologies, and risk management frameworks.
5. Help refine and enhance the firm's manager assessment and due diligence processes.
6. Represent the firm externally, building trusted relationships with senior investment professionals.
7. Partner closely with portfolio managers and data scientists to convert external insights into investable opportunities.
8. Monitor developments across the equity long/short universe to identify emerging talent and underappreciated managers.

Role Requirements:

1. 5+ Years experience within Capital Introduction, Manager Research, Hedge Fund Selection, External Allocation, Investment Research, or a related investment-facing role.
2. Exposure to equity long/short strategies and a strong understanding of the global equity long/short landscape.
3. Established relationships within the hedge fund industry and the ability to engage credibly with senior investment professionals.
4. Strong due diligence capabilities, with the intellectual curiosity to assess investment talent effectively.
5. An entrepreneurial mindset and genuine passion for the buy-side investment process.
6. Quantitative or data-driven experience would be advantageous, but is not essential.
