Macildowie are delighted to be partnering with a well-respected charity in Northamptonshire to recruit two experienced Employee Relations Advisors on an initial six-month contract basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a values-led organisation during a busy and important period, supporting managers across the charity with a broad range of employee relations matters.
The successful candidates will play a key role in providing solutions-focused ER support whilst coaching managers to build confidence and capability in managing people matters effectively.
The Role
Reporting into the HR team, you will provide expert employee relations guidance across a wide range of cases and support managers through the full ER process.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing end-to-end ER casework including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance matters
- Coaching and supporting managers on best practice approaches to employee relations issues
- Providing practical and commercially balanced advice on complex ER cases
- Supporting managers in reducing both short and long-term absence levels
- Building positive working relationships with trade union representatives
- Contributing to the ongoing development of HR policies and procedures
- Working collaboratively within the wider HR team to share knowledge and best practice
- Supporting wider HR projects and operational initiatives where required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience within an Employee Relations or HR Advisory role
- Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and ER best practice
- Experience managing complex ER casework independently
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to coach and influence managers confidently
- Experience working within a fast-paced, unionised or complex environment would be advantageous
CIPD qualification or equivalent experience would be beneficial

The role is being offered on an initial six-month period and the organisations flexible, hybrid working with 2-3 days per week in the Northamptonshire office.
