A well-established engineering manufacturer is seeking an Estimator to join its technical proposals team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a respected business supplying bespoke engineering systems to a wide range of industrial and commercial sectors.
This varied role combines estimating and project engineering responsibilities, requiring close collaboration with customers, suppliers and internal teams to develop accurate proposals and support the delivery of secured projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing customer specifications, drawings and technical documentation
- Producing material take-offs and detailed cost estimates
- Obtaining supplier quotations and evaluating project costs
- Preparing formal quotations, proposals and technical submissions
- Processing customer orders and supporting project delivery
- Liaising with sales, design and production teams to ensure project requirements are met
- Managing multiple enquiries and projects simultaneously
- Supporting continuous improvement and compliance initiatives
About You
- Previous experience in estimating within engineering, manufacturing or a related industry
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Comfortable managing competing priorities and working to deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
This role would suit an established estimator or someone looking for a start to their career in a technical commercially focused position.
