Excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC professional to move into a highly technical estimating role, working on a diverse range of precision machining projects whilst playing a key role in the growth and success of a leading manufacturing business.
Are you an experienced CNC Machinist, Programmer, Manufacturing Engineer or Estimator? Are you looking for a role where you can utilise your technical expertise to influence project strategy, manufacturing methods and business growth?
This growing precision engineering company specialises in delivering high-quality machined components across a variety of industries. With continued investment in technology, equipment and people, they are looking to strengthen their engineering team through the addition of a Estimator to help support future growth.
In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing customer enquiries and RFQs, developing manufacturing strategies and producing accurate cost estimates for a wide range of machining projects. You will utilise CAD/CAM software to assess manufacturing methods, tooling requirements, machining times and material usage, ensuring commercially competitive and profitable quotations. Alongside estimating duties, you will also support programming improvements, process development and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong machining background who is looking to move into a commercially focused engineering role whilst remaining heavily involved in technical decision-making and manufacturing strategy.
The Role:
- Reviewing customer RFQs and technical drawings to develop manufacturing solutions
- Producing accurate cost estimates for CNC turning and milling projects
- Determining machining methods, cycle times, tooling and fixture requirements
- Utilising CAD/CAM software to generate toolpaths and manufacturing concepts
- £40,000 – £55,000 + 25 days holiday + Training + Progression + Pension + Excellent Career Development
The Person:
- Background in CNC Machining, Manufacturing Engineering, CNC Programming or Estimating
- Strong understanding of both CNC Turning and Milling processes
- Experience using CAD/CAM software
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Lives local to Burnley or willing to commute
