Role Overview

The European FAC Property Account Handler will play a pivotal role in supporting Property Brokers with facultative placements across European territories. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and managing market documentation, coordinating submissions and quotations, maintaining insurer and client records, and liaising extensively with both London and European insurance markets.

This position would suit an individual with a minimum of three years' experience in Property, Facultative, or wider Commercial Insurance Broking environments who has developed strong technical and administrative capabilities and is looking to further their career within a leading independent Lloyd's broker.

Key Responsibilities

Broker & Placement Support

  • Prepare and issue market presentations, submissions, slips, endorsements, and placing documentation.
  • Assist brokers with facultative property placements across European risks.
  • Coordinate renewal and new business processes from inception through to placement.
  • Monitor placement progress and follow up outstanding quotations with insurers.
  • Support the negotiation process by obtaining and collating market feedback.

Market Liaison

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Lloyd's syndicates, London market insurers, and European carriers.
  • Act as a primary contact for insurers regarding documentation, queries, and placement administration.
  • Ensure timely communication between brokers, underwriters, and clients.
  • Attend market meetings where required alongside broking teams.

Documentation & Technical Processing

  • Produce accurate and professional market documentation to a high standard.
  • Review policy wordings, endorsements, and contract documentation for accuracy.
  • Maintain electronic placement records and ensure compliance with internal procedures.
  • Process premium and contract information accurately within broking systems.
  • Support contract certainty and regulatory compliance requirements.

Client Service

  • Assist in delivering high-quality service to international property clients.
  • Respond promptly to client and market requests.
  • Ensure all client records and documentation are maintained in accordance with company standards.
  • Support brokers in managing ongoing servicing requirements throughout the policy lifecycle.

Candidate Requirements

Essential Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' experience within an Insurance Broking, Account Handling, or Technical Processing role.
  • Experience supporting Property or Facultative placements.
  • Exposure to Lloyd's and London Market operations.
  • Experience producing market-facing documentation including slips, submissions, MRCs, endorsements, and policy documents.
  • Previous interaction with insurers, underwriters, and brokers.

Technical Knowledge

  • Understanding of Property Insurance principles and policy structures.
  • Familiarity with facultative placements and market processes.
  • Working knowledge of Lloyd's and London Market documentation standards.
  • Experience using broking systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Professional and confident when dealing with insurers and internal stakeholders.
  • Commercial awareness and client-focused approach.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with both London and European markets.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative broking environment.

Desirable

  • European language skills (French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch or Nordic languages).
  • Experience handling European property business.
  • CII studies completed or in progress.
  • Experience within a Lloyd's broker or international broking house.
