Exciting Opportunity Within a Growing Family Law Team
A well-established and respected law firm in Rayleigh is seeking a Family Paralegal or Family Solicitor to join an expanding team in its busy and supportive Family Department.
This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced Family Paralegal looking to further develop their legal career or a qualified Family Solicitor seeking a role with high-quality work, strong client relationships and genuine progression opportunities.
The successful candidate will become part of a collaborative team committed to delivering exceptional legal advice and outstanding client care during what are often some of the most important and challenging periods in clients' lives.
The Role
You will assist with or manage a varied caseload of privately funded family matters, depending on your level of experience.
Areas of work are likely to include:
- Divorce and separation
- Financial remedy matters
- Private children proceedings
- Cohabitation disputes
- Pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements
- Domestic abuse matters
- Separation agreements
- Family Law Act applications
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting fee earners with active family law matters.
- Managing your own caseload where appropriate.
- Drafting legal documents, applications and correspondence.
- Preparing court bundles and supporting litigation processes.
- Liaising with clients, courts, barristers and third parties.
- Attending client meetings and taking detailed instructions.
- Providing practical, sensitive and client-focused support.
- Maintaining accurate file management and compliance standards.
- Assisting with business development and networking activities where appropriate.
About You
For Family Paralegal applicants:
- Previous experience within a Family Law department.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and client care abilities.
- Experience drafting legal documents and correspondence.
- A genuine interest in pursuing a long-term career in Family Law.
For Family Solicitor applicants:
- Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or equivalent.
- Experience handling privately funded family matters.
- Ability to manage files with an appropriate level of autonomy.
- Strong technical knowledge and client management skills.
