We are currently looking to welcome a Female Support Worker into our learning disabilities team in Harborne, Birmingham.
This service supports 3 ladies with learning disabilities within their own home. They all have their own bedroom with shared communal areas. Our service users are really outgoing and always like to be doing something, whether it’s enjoy completing jigsaws, baking cakes and cupcakes, watching soaps, and many more activities!
Support Worker Duties:
- Provide personal care and support with domestic tasks e.g. cooking, cleaning etc.
- Enable them to enjoy a fulfilling and valued life, to participate in the community and to develop their abilities as fully as possible.
- Enable service users to gain independence, confidence and competence in areas such as: daily living, managing money, social skills/relationships and many more!
- Collaborate with families of service users and involved professionals to provide a consistent service to meet individual needs.
- Be willing to work flexibly according to the needs of the service, which may include daytimes, evenings, weekends, sleep ins and bank holidays.
Experience is desirable but not essential for this role, as full ongoing training will be provided.
