Field Service Engineer – Software & Automation Midlands (Field-Based with UK Travel)
£44,000 Basic Salary + 10% Annual Bonus

The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has become available for a Field Service Engineer to join a globally recognised engineering organisation specialising in advanced industrial tooling and automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and service industrial tooling and automation equipment
- Diagnose faults and optimise the performance of pneumatic, battery-powered, and DC tooling systems
- Support network installations and PLC integrations
- Carry out tool calibration, testing, and certification activities
- Perform preventative maintenance and pre-delivery inspections
- Provide technical support and resolve customer issues from initial diagnosis through to completion
- Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, service contracts, and additional solutions
- Complete detailed service reports, documentation, and maintenance records
- Build strong customer relationships and deliver exceptional service standards
About YouEssential Requirements
- HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Experience working with industrial power tools, automation equipment, or within a manufacturing/service engineering environment
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of industrial networking and automation systems
- Exposure to PLC-controlled equipment
- Experience within manufacturing, assembly, or industrial production environments
