The Company
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing and forward-thinking business within a Finance Assistant position, supporting a busy and collaborative finance team. This role offers exposure across the full transactional finance function and is ideal for someone looking to develop their career in a fast-paced and supportive environment.
The Role
As the Finance Assistant you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day finance operations. Working closely with the wider team, you will gain exposure across both sales and purchase ledger, bank reconciliations and month-end processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing sales invoices and managing customer accounts, including cash allocation and chasing outstanding payments
- Handling purchase ledger activities, including invoice processing, supplier payments and statement reconciliations
- Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries with both internal teams and suppliers
- Completing regular bank reconciliations and posting transactions accurately
- Supporting month-end activities, including accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
- Assisting with audit preparation and maintaining accurate documentation
- Providing general finance support and contributing to process improvements
The Person
- Previous experience in a Finance Assistant or similar transactional finance role
- Strong understanding of accounts payable and/or receivable
- Experience with bank reconciliations
- Working knowledge of month-end processes (including accruals and prepayments)
- Confident using Excel and finance systems (ERP experience desirable)
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- A proactive, team-oriented approach with good communication skills
- AAT qualified or studying (desirable but not essential)
