Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Managing multiple finance inboxes, investigating queries, and ensuring nothing slips through the cracks
- Processing and flagging invoices for payment, pushing them through Xero, and raising daily invoices
- Using council portals to gather weekly data and ensure accurate reporting
- Reconciling spreadsheets to make sure payments match up and everything is ready to go back onto the portal
- Creating journals or templates to upload invoices to the system
- Passing invoices through for approval and keeping the process moving
What you will need:
- Previous experience in a similar finance role (Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Assistant Accountant, Purchase Ledger Clerk)
- A curious, progressive mindset – you’re not afraid to ask questions and validate information
- Strong attention to detail and a knack for spotting inconsistencies
- Experience with Xero and Excel (including Vlookups and Pivot Tables)
- A team player attitude and the ability to bring positive energy to the office
