MacKenzie King are working with a great business based in Woodbridge to recruit a temporary Finance Assistant to support them during a busy period. The successful candidate will have strong transactional experience, covering both accounts payable and accounts receivable, along with some exposure to basic management accounts duties. If you have solid experience in transactional accounting and are immediately available, this could be an excellent opportunity for you. There is also potential for this temporary role to become permanent, offering you the chance to demonstrate your skills and make a positive impression on the wider team.
Key tasks and responsibilities
Sales Ledger:
- Customer invoicing and credit note management.
- Allocate customer receipts and ensure that customers’ accounts are kept clean and tidy and that unallocated items are kept to a minimum.
- Investigate customer queries and resolve in a timely and efficient manner.
- On-board new customers into the finance system
- Perform monthly reconciliation of sales ledger to the general ledger.
- Maintain the accuracy of customer information.
Purchase Ledger:
- Agree invoices to purchase orders and input into finance system.
- Investigating purchase ledger queries.
- Perform supplier statement reconciliations.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of purchase ledger to the general ledger.
- Maintaining the accuracy of vendor information.
Management Accounting:
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly MI including reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Calculation of accruals and prepayments.
- Assisting with amortisation and depreciation calculations.
- Ad-hoc accounting tasks as required.
