Junior Finance Assistant
Location: Sunderland
Type: Full-time, Permanent
KCR Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a growing business in Sunderland for a Junior Finance Assistant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in finance. You will be supported by an experienced finance team and gain hands-on exposure to day-to-day financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Assisting with supplier statement reconciliations
- Supporting payment runs and liaising with suppliers on queries
- Maintaining the cashbook, including daily bank postings and reconciliations
- Assisting with allocating incoming payments
- Supporting month-end processes
- Filing and maintaining financial records
- General finance administration and ad hoc duties as required
About You
- Keen interest in finance or accounting
- Strong attention to detail and good level of numeracy
- Good IT skills, particularly Excel (basic level acceptable)
- Organised and able to manage workload effectively
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Good communication skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- Finance & Accounting degree (or similar) – preferred
- AAT studying or keen to start
- Previous office or admin experience
- Some practical experience with invoicing processes (e.g. processing invoices, matching, or exposure during placement or part-time role)
- Exposure to finance tasks (placement, internship, or part-time work)
