An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join a leading London-based university within its Planning and Business Partnering team. This role plays a key part in delivering financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making across academic Schools.
You will act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders, providing high-quality financial insight, driving performance, and supporting the development of a collaborative and forward-thinking financial culture. This is a highly visible role, contributing to planning, budgeting, forecasting and long-term strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Business Partnering & Performance
- Partner with Schools to deliver financial performance in line with the University’s financial plan.
- Build strong relationships with senior leaders, influencing outcomes and promoting financial accountability.
Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead on budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities at School level.
- Support the production of year-end results and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Provide training and support to budget holders to strengthen financial management capability.
Analysis & Reporting
- Deliver high-quality financial information and insights to senior management and stakeholders.
- Produce analysis on areas such as student numbers, staff costs, programme profitability and project performance.
- Support business case development through investment appraisal and financial modelling.
Continuous Improvement & Change
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting.
- Lead on service improvement initiatives and support change management activities.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, transparency and innovation within Finance.
Candidate Profile:
- Strong experience in financial business partnering, management accounting or similar
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis within a complex organisation
- Ability to influence and build relationships with senior stakeholders
- Strong understanding of financial controls, governance and value for money principles
- Excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills
- Experience of managing competing priorities and working to tight deadlines
