Harper May Ltd
“`html
Harper May is working with a founder-led media and events business that has grown organically over the last five years across live conferences, digital content, and sponsorship activation. The company operates across multiple revenue streams and is now at a stage where financial rigour and clearer cost visibility will unlock the next phase of growth. They are seeking a Finance Manager to establish scalable processes and provide the financial discipline the business needs as it expands.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will own the core finance function, managing month-end reporting, cash flow forecasting, and commercial analysis across the business. The role sits at the intersection of operations and strategy, giving you visibility into how each event and content initiative performs financially. You will work directly with project leads and commercial teams to translate activity into clear, actionable numbers.
- Execute month-end and quarterly close cycles, producing timely management accounts and variance analysis
- Build and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts, particularly around event delivery cycles
- Partner with operational teams to track project costs, margins, and profitability in real time
- Support annual budgeting and scenario planning across the portfolio
- Oversee bank reconciliations, balance sheet management, and statutory compliance
- Drive process improvements in finance systems and reporting as the business scales
- Contribute to audit preparation and external reporting
What we are looking for
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, or equivalent experience in a regulated finance role
- Background in media, events, entertainment, or other project-driven sectors
- Solid technical accounting knowledge and confident with spreadsheet modelling
- Ability to distil financial data into insights that resonate with non-finance leaders
- Comfortable in dynamic, fast-moving environments where priorities shift regularly
- Organised, detail-oriented, and genuinely interested in how finance can support business decisions
