An exciting opportunity has become available within a fast-moving FMCG business with a significant international presence. The business continues to evolve and invest in its finance function and is seeking a technically strong Finance Manager to join its Group Finance team based in Dorset.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to take ownership of statutory reporting, technical accounting and financial control activities within a complex, multi-entity environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of the Group's financial reporting while supporting business growth, regulatory compliance and continuous process improvement.

Your Roles & Responsibilities:
While in this position your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing statutory accounts for Group and subsidiary entities in accordance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Managing the month-end and year-end close process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Overseeing the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process and identifying financial risks and control weaknesses
  • Supporting the preparation of consolidated financial statements and group reporting requirements
  • Managing accounting activities relating to areas such as lease accounting, intercompany transactions, foreign currency accounting, impairments and consolidations
  • Acting as a technical accounting specialist, providing guidance on accounting standards and complex transactions
  • Preparing technical accounting papers and supporting the implementation of new accounting requirements
  • Managing relationships with external auditors and acting as a key point of contact throughout the audit process
  • Coordinating the annual audit timetable and ensuring all supporting documentation is prepared accurately and on time
  • Supporting the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of finance policies, procedures and controls
  • Identifying opportunities to strengthen financial governance, reporting accuracy and operational efficiency
  • Providing ad-hoc statutory, regulatory and external reporting as required
  • Supporting finance systems enhancements and ensuring reporting tools remain fit for purpose
  • Managing, mentoring and developing junior finance team members to support their professional growth and performance

What You Will Need to Apply:
The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with several years of post-qualification experience gained within a financial accounting, statutory reporting or technical accounting environment.
Candidates should possess significant experience preparing statutory accounts for both standalone entities and consolidated groups, alongside a strong and up-to-date understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP reporting requirements. Experience working within a multinational or multi-entity environment would be highly advantageous.
Applicants should demonstrate strong technical accounting expertise, excellent analytical capabilities and a proven ability to interpret and apply complex accounting standards. Previous experience managing external audits, either from practice or industry, will be essential.
Strong communication skills are required, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Candidates should also be comfortable managing multiple priorities, meeting strict deadlines and operating effectively within a fast-paced environment.
Experience using large ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills would be beneficial. Previous exposure to international reporting environments, foreign currency accounting and finance transformation projects would also be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, detail-oriented and capable of combining technical excellence with a pragmatic and commercial approach.
