Accountancy Action
We are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Finance Manager to join an existing growing business. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or finalist accountant looking to take ownership of the finance function while partnering with senior stakeholders to drive business performance.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will lead the day-to-day finance operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust controls, and insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
- Produce financial reports and KPIs to support business performance.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and journal postings.
- Ensure compliance with statutory reporting, VAT, and audit requirements.
- Business partner with department heads, providing commercial insight and financial support.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen financial controls.
- Manage and develop the finance team, providing coaching and support.
- Assist with strategic projects, system improvements, and business planning initiatives.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in a Finance Manager or similar role.
- Strong in management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- A confident communicator who can build relationships across all levels of the business.
- Commercially aware with the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insight.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Sage, Dynamics, NetSuite, or Xero.
- A proactive leader who enjoys improving processes and developing people.
