PARALLEL RECRUITMENT LTD
Finance Manager
Bradford
£50,000 – £55,000
NHS Pension + Hybrid Working + Flexitime
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function within this successful medical practice.
The role would suit someone who enjoys autonomy, responsibility, and the opportunity to make a genuine impact. You will be given the scope and trust by the owners to lead the finance function, improve reporting, strengthen financial controls, and provide greater transparency around profitability, margins, cash flow, and overall performance.
You will oversee a finance team of four and play a key role in ensuring the practice has accurate, timely, and meaningful financial information to support decision-making, sustainability, and future growth.
This is not a role where you will simply produce numbers. The owners are looking for someone who can interpret the figures, challenge where needed, identify risks and opportunities, and help them understand what is really driving financial performance across the practice.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing a finance team of four while overseeing the day-to-day finance function
- Producing accurate and timely management information for the owners and senior leadership team
- Improving financial reporting around profitability, margins, budgets, and performance
- Monitoring performance against budgets and advising on appropriate actions
- Supporting long-term planning, forecasting, and strategic decision-making
- Managing relationships with external stakeholders including accountants, banks, HMRC, NHS England
- Ensuring strong financial controls, compliance, and audit readiness
- Reviewing processes and identifying ways to improve efficiency across the finance function
- Communicating financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues
- Supporting a positive, accountable, and high-performing culture within the finance team
Experience within the NHS, healthcare, GP practice, or medical sector would be a real advantage, particularly if you understand NHS funding, ICB frameworks, contracts, and financial reporting requirements. However, this is not essential.
More important is your ability to take ownership, lead a team, improve financial visibility, and communicate clearly with business owners and senior stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Management Accountant, or similar, who is confident overseeing a finance function and managing a small team.
You will need strong financial management experience, including budgeting, cash flow, reporting, compliance, and long-term planning.
You should also be comfortable working with accounting systems, advanced Excel, and producing financial information that is accurate, useful, and easy to understand.
The practice has a strong values-led culture and is looking for someone who can lead with professionalism, integrity, accountability, and a genuine focus on team development and wellbeing.
In return, you will join a successful and respected medical practice offering excellent benefits, including access to the NHS pension, hybrid working, flexitime, and a role where you will be trusted to make decisions and shape the finance function.
This is a brilliant opportunity for a Finance Manager who wants more ownership, more influence, and the chance to play a key role in the future success of a £10m turnover organisation.
