Headstar
Finance Manager
Derby | £60,000 + Benefits | Hybrid Working (4 days office / 1 day home)
A successful, growing business operating within the luxury goods sector is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to become the senior finance lead within the organisation.
Reporting directly to the Directors, this is a hands-on role with responsibility for all aspects of finance across a sub £35m turnover business. You'll be the go-to person for financial matters, providing robust financial control, insightful reporting and commercial support to help drive business performance.
This is not a corporate environment with layers of management and specialist teams. Instead, you'll operate at the heart of the business, working closely with key decision-makers and gaining exposure to every aspect of the operation.
The culture is ambitious, fast-paced and results-driven. Expectations are high, accountability is valued and success is recognised. The successful candidate will be someone who thrives in this environment and enjoys taking ownership rather than waiting for direction.
The Role
- Lead all day-to-day finance activities across the business
- Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts
- Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting
- Maintain strong financial controls and balance sheet integrity
- Deliver meaningful financial analysis and reporting to support operational decision-making
- Partner with Directors and departmental leaders to improve performance and profitability
- Develop reporting that effectively communicates financial performance across non-finance functions
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax and regulatory requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting quality
About You
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar role
- Strong controllership background with excellent technical accounting skills
- Confident producing high-quality management information and business reporting
- Commercially minded with the ability to challenge and influence stakeholders
- Highly organised, resilient and comfortable working at pace
- Strong communicator capable of translating financial data into meaningful business insight
- Automotive, retail, multi-site or stock-intensive industry experience would be advantageous
Why Join?
This role offers far more than a traditional Finance Manager position.
You'll work directly alongside entrepreneurial business leaders, gain exposure to strategic decision-making and play a key role in a successful business operating within a premium market. For an ambitious finance professional, it presents an opportunity to broaden your experience beyond core controllership, develop your commercial capabilities and establish yourself as a trusted adviser to the leadership team.
If you're looking for a role where your contribution is visible, your impact is measurable and you'll be challenged to perform at a high level, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.
