Cedar is partnering with a growing and acquisitive PE-backed business to appoint an Interim Financial Accountant to support the finance team through a complex year-end and audit process. The assignment is offered for an initial 6-month contract on a hybrid basis, with regular attendance at the Central London office. The role offers £375 – £475 per day outside IR35.

A growing business with a complex group structure, following a recent acquisition that has expanded the scope of statutory reporting, consolidation, and external audit requirements.
The Role
This role as Interim Financial Accountant combines technical financial accounting, statutory reporting, audit support, and balance sheet control. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the preparation of statutory financial statements under FRS 102 across multiple group entities, including consolidated group accounts
- Preparing primary financial statements and disclosures in line with UK GAAP and statutory reporting deadlines
- Applying technical accounting knowledge across areas including acquisition accounting, revenue recognition, lease accounting, deferred tax, and intercompany eliminations
- Supporting the external audit process by managing audit requests, collating evidence, and acting as a key point of contact for auditor queries
- Reviewing and strengthening balance sheet reconciliations ahead of year-end, identifying aged items and supporting the resolution of outstanding issues
- Documenting processes and improving financial controls to ensure robust reporting and compliance going forward
Your Profile
- ACA or ACCA qualified accountant, ideally trained in practice
- Strong experience preparing statutory accounts under FRS 102, including consolidated accounts
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience of complex group structures
- Proactive and hands-on approach, with the ability to add value quickly in an interim environment
- Available immediately or at short notice
Compensation & Benefits
