Interim Accountant (Charity)
Salford | Immediate Start | 6-Month Contract
£20-24 per hour

We’re working with a well-respected organisation based in Salford who need an experienced Accountant to join them on a temporary 6-month contract. This is a hands-on role at the heart of the finance function, supporting key decision-making and ensuring financial stability during a critical period.
Location: Salford (office-based)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm
Start: ASAP (immediate availability essential)
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll take ownership of core finance activities, including:
- Producing monthly management accounts, forecasts & cash flow reporting
- Supporting budget planning alongside senior stakeholders
- Preparing annual accounts and liaising with auditors
- Ensuring robust financial controls, system integrity & record-keeping
- Overseeing bank reconciliations, payments and cash flow management
- Supporting procurement activities and financial governance
- Attending and contributing to key committees and meetings
What we’re looking for:
- Qualified accountant OR qualified by experience (QBE)
- Strong background in a finance function (charity preferred)
- Experience with management accounts, budgeting & audits
- Confident managing financial systems and banking arrangements
- Highly organised, methodical, and accurate
- Able to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
Desirable:
- Experience in the charity sector
- Familiarity with Sage or similar accounting systems
Important:
- You must be immediately available
- You must have full right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
