Our Client:
Mackie Myers have partnered with a growing organisation in Oxfordshire to appoint a Financial Accountant into their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business during an exciting period of growth
The Role:
The Financial Accountant is responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, managing the month-end process and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. The role also supports audit, tax, budgeting and process improvements while partnering with stakeholders across the business.
Main duties:
- Prepare monthly and annual financial reports.
- Manage month-end close, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Prepare VAT returns and support statutory accounts and year-end audit.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cashflow reporting.
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with UK accounting standards.
- Support process improvements and finance systems enhancements.
- Partner with stakeholders to provide financial analysis and insight.
The Successful Candidate:
- ACA or ACCA Qualified (or equivalent).
- Previous financial accounting experience, ideally within industry or practice.
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP (FRS 102), statutory reporting and VAT.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
- Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills.
- Proactive, detail-oriented and committed to continuous improvement.

- Salary range £50,000-£55,000
