Financial Accountant (Reconciliations & Data) | Harrogate (Hybrid) | £36,000
Seeking a step away from just month-end routines, but finance is still your home? This one's for you.
This is a finance role at heart- reconciliations, variances, making the numbers mean something, but with a strong data flavour. It's not a pure analyst role, and it's not traditional month-end either. It's the bit in between, and that's the whole point.
We're working with a fast-growing, market-leading business in Harrogate looking for a Financial Accountant to join a close, friendly and genuinely supportive team. If you've got a finance grounding and enjoy taking high-volume data, reconciling it, making it financially meaningful, spotting the variances and telling the story behind the numbers — this could be your next move.
What you'll actually be doing:
- Reconciling high-volume data and making it financially meaningful
- Hunting down variances and understanding the why behind them
- Analysing data once it's in the system and turning it into insight
- Working closely with stakeholders across the business to improve performance
What we're really looking for:
- A genuine finance background — you understand reconciliations, journals and financial statements
- Strong Excel skills (this one's non-negotiable)
- Someone who enjoys working with data, but from a finance perspective
- A proactive attitude, comfortable in fast, high-volume environments and happy to roll with change
- Kind, collaborative, and a proper team player
You might be part-qualified, or a few years into finance and itching for something less routine. Crucially, this is for people who want to stay in finance — just the more interesting, data-rich end of it.
What's in it for you:
- £36,000 + a genuinely lovely team and culture (monthly socials, close-knit, supportive of new starters)
- Hybrid working — minimum 2 days in the office, with flexible start times
- Full study support for financial qualifications (including ACCA)
- Real internal mobility and scope to grow into business partnering and client-facing finance roles
- Free parking and a 5-minute walk from the train station
If you want a finance role with a data edge — where you're trusted, stretched, and never doing the same thing twice — please get in touch.
