Financial Controller
Exeter, Devon
£50,000 – £60,000 per annum
Our client, a successful and growing business, has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join their finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join an ambitious and expanding business where you can make a significant contribution to both operational and strategic objectives.
As Financial Controller, you will lead the finance function, delivering accurate financial reporting, robust controls and meaningful management information while partnering with the leadership team to drive financial performance, enhance processes and support the strategic direction of the business.

The responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the finance function
- Manage and support a small finance team
- Oversee sales ledger, purchase ledger and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Manage VAT compliance and statutory reporting requirements
- Monitor cash flow and support forecasting activities
- Assist with budgeting, planning and financial analysis
- Drive process improvements and strengthen financial controls
The candidate:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or nearing completion of qualification
- Previous experience leading or supervising a finance team
- Strong knowledge of management accounting, VAT and financial controls
- Proficient in Xero and Microsoft Excel
- Commercially aware with excellent communication and analytical skills
