Robert Half is proud to be supporting a historic and well-established Leeds-based business in the search for an outstanding Financial Controller.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a technically strong finance professional who can combine deep accounting expertise with the ability to lead and develop a high-performing team in a complex and evolving group environment.
The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of current accounting standards in the UK and internationally, and be able to assess and manage the accounting implications of acquisitions, organisational change and business growth, particularly as they relate to group accounting policies and reporting.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the finance function and managing a high-calibre team
- Overseeing group financial control, reporting and compliance
- Ensuring robust application of current accounting standards
- Assessing the accounting impact of acquisitions, restructuring and growth activity
- Supporting the development and evolution of group accounting policies
- Driving continuous improvement across financial processes and controls
- Acting as a key finance partner to senior leadership
Candidate profile:
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Significant post-qualified experience in senior finance leadership roles
- Strong technical accounting expertise, including knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS and broader international standards
- Proven experience of operating in a group environment
- Strong understanding of the accounting considerations surrounding M&A, change and growth
- Demonstrable experience leading, developing and motivating teams
- Commercially aware, credible and confident engaging with senior stakeholders
In return, the business is offering a salary of £110,000 – £120,000 with a strong benefits package, alongside hybrid working options.
