Company Overview:
An established and growing fire protection business is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Manager to oversee the commercial and operational delivery of fire alarm projects.
This is a varied role that combines estimating, project oversight, operational management, and team leadership. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting business growth while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with industry standards.
The Role:
You will be responsible for both the pre-construction and operational aspects of fire alarm projects, working closely with clients, engineers, suppliers, and senior management.
Fire Alarm Manager Key responsibilities include:
Estimating & Commercial
- Preparing accurate quotations and cost estimates for fire alarm installations, upgrades, and remedial works
- Reviewing specifications, drawings, and tender documentation
- Managing project costs and ensuring profitability targets are achieved
- Supporting bid submissions and commercial negotiations
- Providing technical guidance on fire alarm systems and compliance requirements
Operations & Project Delivery
- Overseeing the delivery of installation, service, and fault rectification works
- Managing engineers, subcontractors, and project schedules
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards
- Developing and improving operational processes and procedures
- Reviewing operational performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Producing operational and financial reports for senior management
- Reviewing and approving supplier and operational invoices
- Supporting the growth and development of the operations team
Fire Alarm Manager Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience estimating and managing fire alarm projects
- Strong knowledge of BS 5839 and UK fire alarm regulations
- Experience working with addressable fire alarm systems and life safety installations
- A background within the fire protection, fire detection, or life safety sector
- Excellent project management and operational leadership skills
- Strong commercial awareness and cost-control experience
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- A full UK driving licence
