We are looking for someone to administer the Council’s process for handling Freedom of Information requests, and assisting with the investigation of complaints. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with extensive experience of analysing and interpreting information, and a commitment to innovation and best practice. They should confident to communicate effectively with a broad range of internal and external customers, and have experience handing sensitive and difficult enquiries from members of the public.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- To administer the Council’s process for handling Freedom of Information requests, including the logging of requests and collation of responses.
- To assist with investigation of complaints made to the Chief Executive.
- To support the Corporate Secretariat Manager with the provision of specialist advice and support to directorates in meeting their responsibilities under the Freedom of Information Act and the corporate complaints policy.
- Information Governance Officer
- Preparation of FOI response following contributions from other teams in the council.
- Managing FOI contributions in line with legislations.
- Conducting internal reviews in relation to information governance requests.
- Responding and managing and ICO complaints/referrals made against the council.
- General advice in relation to information governance and data protection.
- Ideally candidates experienced in using ecase.
Key Details:
- Pay: PAYE £34.35 per hour or Umbrella £45.00 per hour
- Location: Oxford Town Hall, St.Aldate’s, Oxford (remote)
- Contract end date: 31/08/2026
