Your new role
Due to a sustained pipeline of secured work, the contractor is looking to appoint a Freelance Quantity Surveyor on a long-term ongoing basis. You will be responsible for managing the commercial delivery of multiple refurbishment projects across Lancashire, working closely with operational teams to ensure financial performance and project success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing multiple social housing refurbishment projects concurrently
- Procurement and commercial management of subcontractors
- Cost control, forecasting and reporting
- Preparation and submission of valuations and variations
- Agreement of final accounts
- Liaising with clients, site teams and internal stakeholders
- Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and margin targets
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within social housing refurbishment or planned maintenance
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage multiple live projects
- Experience with subcontract procurement and management
- Confident with valuations, variations and final accounts
- Good working knowledge of forms of contract (e.g. JCT / NHF)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
