A highly regarded French international school in London is seeking a skilled and experienced French Teacher (Modern Literature / Lettres Modernes) to join their team for the full academic year. This part-time position involves 12 hours per week across two days, with the possibility of annual extension.
The successful candidate will teach within both the French and British sections, delivering high-quality lessons aligned with the French national curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and high-quality French (Lettres Modernes) lessons to:
- Year 7
- Year 10
- Plan and deliver lessons in accordance with the French curriculum
- Assess, monitor, and support student progress effectively
- Contribute to departmental collaboration, including:
- Schemes of work
- Common assessments and mock examinations
- Educational activities and school trips
Candidate Requirements
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. CAPES, CAFEP, Agrégation, or equivalent),
or a relevant Master’s degree (M1/M2) in French literature or a related field - Proven experience teaching within the French education system (collège and/or lycée)
- Strong understanding of the French curriculum and its structure
- Experience teaching French as a first language (rather than a foreign language) is highly desirable
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Minimum B2 level of English
