The Opportunity
We're exclusively supporting a successful and growing professional services organisation in the search for an experienced General Manager to join their senior leadership team.
This is a pivotal role, reporting directly to the Managing Director, where you'll have the opportunity to influence business strategy, drive operational excellence and lead the next phase of growth. You'll be responsible for ensuring multiple departments are aligned, performing effectively and delivering against ambitious commercial objectives.
This opportunity would suit an experienced operational leader who enjoys driving performance, implementing change and making a tangible impact across an organisation.
The Role
As General Manager, you will:
- Lead the day-to-day operational and commercial performance of the business
- Translate strategic objectives into clear, actionable delivery plans
- Drive efficiency, productivity and profitability across the organisation
- Lead and develop cross-functional teams across Operations, Commercial and IT
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Champion business transformation and digital improvement projects
- Ensure strong governance, compliance and risk management practices
- Work closely with the Managing Director and senior stakeholders to support business growth
About You
We're looking for a commercially minded leader who can combine strategic thinking with operational delivery.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a General Manager, Operations Director or similar senior leadership role
- A proven track record of improving business performance and delivering growth
- Experience leading organisational change, transformation or improvement programmes
- Strong commercial acumen and financial awareness
- Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills
- The ability to influence, motivate and align teams towards common goals
- Experience within a professional services or regulated environment would be advantageous
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience within the legal or wider professional services sector would be highly advantageous.
- Proven experience operating as a senior leader, deputy, or trusted strategic partner to a Managing Director or Executive Team.
- Background working within regulated industries or complex, multi-faceted operational environments.
- Experience managing and developing relationships with external suppliers, technology providers, and key business partners.
