We are delighted to be partnering with a highly respected planning and property consultancy seeking a Graduate Town Planner to join its growing Chester office. This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious planning graduate to gain hands-on experience across a diverse range of projects while working alongside experienced planning professionals.
The Opportunity
As a Graduate Town Planner, you will become an integral part of a collaborative planning team, supporting the delivery of projects across residential, commercial, mixed-use, leisure, and strategic land sectors. You will gain exposure to all stages of the planning process, helping clients navigate complex planning matters while developing your technical expertise.
This role offers structured professional development and support towards achieving MRTPI status.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals.
- Undertaking planning policy research and site appraisals.
- Preparing planning statements and supporting documentation.
- Monitoring planning applications and local plan developments.
- Liaising with local authorities, consultees, clients, and stakeholders.
- Supporting senior planners on a broad range of development projects.
- Attending client meetings, public consultations, and site visits.
- Contributing to the preparation of reports, presentations, and development strategies.
About You
- Degree (or postgraduate qualification) in Town Planning or a related discipline accredited by the RTPI.
- Strong interest in UK planning and development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and research abilities.
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively within a team.
- Full UK driving licence desirable but not essential.
