Job Title: Grounds Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Eastbourne, Hailsham, East Sussex
Hours: Monday-Friday – 7:30am-5:00pm summer / 7:30am-4:00pm winter
Salary: £30K per annum

HRGO Recruitment are seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our clients team. This role is essential for ensuring that the public spaces are well-maintained, safe, and presented to a high standard for the community to enjoy.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in carrying out essential ground's maintenance work across our client's sites.
General Duties:
- Lead, support, and motivate 1-2 grounds maintenance operatives on site.
- Carry out and oversee a wide range of grounds maintenance tasks, including:
- Grass cutting (ride-on and pedestrian mowers)
- Strimming, hedge cutting, and shrub bed maintenance
- Line marking, weed spraying, leaf clearing, and litter picking
- Plan and allocate daily tasks, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Ensure parks, open spaces, and recreational areas are clean, tidy, and well maintained.
- Communicate with clients on site when required and provide excellent customer service.
- Inspect and maintain tools, machinery, and equipment, promoting safe working practices and reporting any faults.
- Work with other teams to complete maintenance projects and site improvements.
Requirements:
- Previous experience leading or supervising a grounds maintenance team.
- Full UK driving licence
- Skilled in the safe operation of a range of grounds maintenance equipment.
- Good knowledge of grounds maintenance practices.
- PA1 & PA6 certificates and horticultural qualifications are advantageous.
- Ability to carry out physically demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
