Group Financial Controller

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

The Opportunity
Broster Buchanan are delighted to be the exclusive recruitment partner in the hiring of a Group Financial Controller (No2), to join an international organisation at a pivotal stage in its evolution.
Following a recent change in ownership and transition to a standalone operating model, this is a high-profile role that will play a key part in establishing robust financial processes, strengthening governance frameworks, and supporting future growth.
This position is ideal for a technically strong finance leader (ACA, ACCA or equivalent), who enjoys driving change, improving systems, and partnering with senior stakeholders in a dynamic global environment.
The role would suit an ambitious individual (either first time practice leaver, or those already in industry), seeking a No1 role in the not too distant future.
The Role
As Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the integrity of the organisation's financial reporting, treasury activities, tax compliance, and financial governance across multiple international entities.
You will work closely with the CFO and senior leadership team to deliver accurate financial information, enhance controls, and support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Group's financial reporting activities, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant reporting across all international entities, while maintaining robust financial controls and governance frameworks.
- Oversee treasury operations, including cash flow, liquidity, banking relationships, foreign exchange exposure, funding arrangements and working capital optimisation.
- Manage the Group's global tax agenda, ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions while driving tax efficiency and mitigating associated risks.
- Partner with the CFO and senior leadership team to provide strategic financial insight, support business decision-making and contribute to the organisation's long-term growth objectives.
- Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing finance team, while building strong relationships with external auditors, advisors, financial institutions and regulatory bodies.
- Drive continuous improvement across finance systems, processes and reporting capabilities, supporting business transformation, integration activities and organisational change.
About You
You will be a qualified accountant with strong technical expertise and the ability to operate effectively in a changing international environment.
Essential Experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
- Experience in financial reporting, treasury management and taxation ideal.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and financial controls.
- Proven experience leading and developing teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to mergers & acquisitions, business integration or restructuring projects.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics.
