Group management accountant

At Impact HR, and across our associated group companies, we are continuing to scale our operations and support to our client base.
To support this growth we are creating a Group Management Accountant role responsible for coordinating financial reporting across the group, ensuring accurate management accounts, strong financial controls and clear financial visibility for leadership.
This is a newly created role that will sit at the centre of the group finance function, working closely with senior leadership and managing Finance Managers across the group to ensure financial reporting remains consistent, reliable and scalable.
This is a part-time role suited to an experienced finance professional who enjoys working in a growing SME environment and is comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy.

The Group Management Accountant will play an important role in supporting business leaders with financial information that enables informed decision-making across the group.
What you will be doing
You will be responsible for coordinating financial reporting across the group and overseeing the group finance function.
Working closely with senior leadership, the role will ensure financial processes operate effectively across all group companies and that financial information is accurate, consistent and delivered on time.
You will also manage Finance Managers across the group, ensuring alignment of financial processes, reporting standards and controls.
Your day to day will include:
Group financial reporting
Prepare accurate and timely financial reporting to support leadership decision-making across the group.
Monthly responsibilities include:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts across group entities
- Consolidation of group financial reporting
- Posting accruals, prepayments, depreciation and journals where required
- Reviewing revenue recognition and deferred income
- Completion and review of balance sheet reconciliations
- Producing group-level management reports for senior leadership
Group finance leadership
Provide oversight and coordination of the finance function across the group.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and coordinate the finance function across group companies
- Managing Finance Managers across group entities
- Ensuring consistent financial processes and reporting standards
- Ensure month-end reporting is delivered accurately and on time across all entities
- Supporting the development of the wider finance team
- Providing guidance and oversight on financial controls and reporting
Financial planning and forecasting
Support financial planning and performance monitoring across the group.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the group budgeting process
- Updating and maintaining the group financial forecast model (P&L, balance sheet and cashflow)
- Supporting budgeting and financial planning processes
- Monitoring financial performance against forecast
- Providing financial insight to support leadership decision-making
Financial control and compliance
Ensure financial processes remain accurate, compliant and well controlled across the group.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversight of VAT submissions across group entities
- Supporting year-end processes and statutory accounts preparation
- Liaising with external accountants regarding statutory reporting and corporation tax
- Ensuring consistent financial controls across the group
Supporting the wider business
Work closely with leadership teams to ensure financial processes operate efficiently and support operational activity.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing financial insight to support strategic decision-making
- Supporting improvements to financial systems and reporting processes
- Supporting integration of financial reporting across group companies

About You
You are an experienced finance professional who enjoys working within a growing SME environment and is comfortable coordinating financial reporting across multiple entities.
You bring strong technical accounting capability alongside the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
You are organised, pragmatic and able to manage your workload effectively while supporting the development of a wider finance team.
You will likely bring:
- Experience producing management accounts within an SME environment
- Experience working within a multi-entity or group structure
- Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or AAT) or qualified by experience
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
- Experience using Xero or similar cloud accounting software
- Strong Excel skills (including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs)
- Experience communicating financial information to non-finance stakeholders
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent prioritising and time management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365
- A solutions-focused, commercially aware mindset
- Application of data protection and confidentiality
