Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a specialist SEMH school in Bolton to recruit a passionate and engaging individual with a Hair & Beauty background to support young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to transfer their practical Hair & Beauty skills into education, helping students develop confidence, vocational skills and positive pathways for their future.

The school provides a therapeutic and personalised learning environment for students who may have struggled in mainstream education. Staff are committed to building strong relationships, promoting positive behaviour and helping young people achieve their full potential.

About the Role

You will use your Hair & Beauty knowledge and practical experience to engage students in vocational learning while acting as a positive role model. The role combines mentoring, pastoral support and practical learning opportunities to help students develop confidence, self-esteem and employability skills.

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential, as the role may involve supporting students with community-based learning, educational visits and off-site activities.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have experience within Hair & Beauty, Barbering, Beauty Therapy, Nails, Makeup Artistry or a related vocational area
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle
  • Are passionate about supporting young people to succeed
  • Can build positive and professional relationships with students
  • Demonstrate patience, resilience and consistency
  • Have experience working with young people, either professionally or through mentoring, coaching, youth work or education
  • Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • Are willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check
