Resourcery Group is delighted to be supporting a well-established, highly respected not-for-profit organisation based in the heart of Liverpool in the search for an experienced Head of Finance.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, leading a capable finance team and making a real operational impact within a purpose-driven organisation.
Reporting into a supportive, down-to-earth and highly professional Chief Finance Officer, you'll play a key leadership role, ensuring the finance function delivers high-quality reporting, strong financial controls and meaningful commercial insight to support decision making across the organisation.
The Opportunity
As Head of Finance, you'll lead the day-to-day finance function, developing and motivating a knowledgeable team while working closely with budget holders across the organisation.
You'll be responsible for delivering accurate management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, improving financial processes and providing trusted financial advice to operational leaders. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical accounting expertise with strong business partnering and people management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop and support an established finance team.
- Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
- Drive the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
- Partner with departmental managers to provide commercial financial support and challenge.
- Deliver insightful financial analysis to aid strategic decision making.
- Ensure robust financial controls, compliance and statutory reporting.
- Oversee payroll and VAT processes.
- Lead continuous improvement across finance systems and processes.
- Contribute as a member of the wider leadership team, supporting operational and organisational objectives.
About You
We're looking for an engaging finance professional who enjoys building relationships across a business and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves.
You'll ideally have:
- CIMA or ACCA qualification (or be actively studying towards qualification).
- Experience producing high-quality management accounts within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong business partnering skills with the ability to influence non-finance stakeholders.
- Previous experience leading and developing a finance team.
- Excellent operational finance knowledge and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong Excel and financial systems experience.
- A collaborative, approachable and proactive style.

- 26 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
