Head of HR – The Role
A highly successful independent school based in Bushey is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of HR to lead and develop its HR function. This is a key leadership position, working closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to deliver an effective people strategy that supports the school's long-term vision and objectives.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all aspects of HR, including workforce planning, organisational development, recruitment and retention, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and staff wellbeing initiatives. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing expert guidance on complex people matters and ensuring best practice across the employee lifecycle.
The role will involve managing complex employee relations cases, overseeing HR policies and procedures, driving organisational change initiatives, and ensuring compliance with employment legislation and safeguarding requirements. You will also lead on workforce data analysis, reporting, and the continuous development of HR systems and processes.
