Head of Operations | Rotherham
A well-established manufacturer based in Rotherham is looking for a Head of Operations to lead a significant operational transformation across their site.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has done this before. The site has a strong commercial order book and the backing of the business behind it. What it needs now is the right operator to drive efficiency, instil discipline, and build a culture of continuous improvement from the ground up.
The Business
A well-established manufacturer operating from a multi-shift site in Rotherham. The business is in a period of focused improvement and is investing in the right leadership to make it happen.
The Role
As Head of Operations, you will take full accountability for the performance of the site and lead the transformation agenda:
- Hold full responsibility for the operational budget, with a clear focus on cost control, efficiency gains and profitability
- Drive operational efficiency across the full production function, reducing waste and improving output
- Lead and embed a lean and continuous improvement culture at all levels of the business
- Own the health and safety agenda, ensuring compliance and a safe working environment for all
- Take responsibility for the end-to-end logistics function, ensuring on-time delivery and cost-effective distribution
- Work closely with commercial teams to ensure capacity and capability are aligned to the order book
- Deliver against KPIs across quality, cost, delivery and people
- Build, develop and lead a capable operations team through a period of significant change
The Person
- Proven experience leading operational turnaround in a manufacturing environment
- Background gained within a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing setting
- Strong background in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
- Demonstrable experience owning and managing an operational budget at a senior level
- A visible, credible leader who can bring people on the journey during a period of change
- Commercially minded with the ability to connect operational decisions to business performance
- Experienced in managing health and safety at a senior level
- Exposure to logistics and supply chain management at a senior level
