About the Role
They are seeking to appoint an ambitious, knowledgeable and inspirational Head of RE & Citizenship to lead and develop this important curriculum area. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or current middle leader to take the next step in their career.
You will provide both strategic and operational leadership, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning and assessment, while supporting all students to make strong progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic development of RE & Citizenship across the school
- Design and implement an ambitious, well-sequenced curriculum that promotes critical thinking and discussion
- Monitor and improve teaching, learning and assessment across the department
- Analyse student data and implement targeted interventions to raise attainment
- Support and develop colleagues through coaching, mentoring and CPD
- Promote high expectations, positive behaviour and inclusion for all learners
- Ensure provision effectively supports SEND and disadvantaged students
- Contribute to whole-school improvement priorities and collaboration across teams
- Develop enrichment and extra-curricular opportunities to enhance student engagement
The Ideal Candidate
They are looking for a committed practitioner who will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge in RE and Citizenship
- Have a proven track record of raising attainment and improving outcomes
- Show the ability to lead, motivate and develop staff
- Be committed to inclusive practice and high expectations for all students
- Bring energy, creativity and a passion for inspiring young people
