Pure Resourcing Solutions
Head of Supply Chain
Location: Essex
Salary: £80,000 – £90,000 + package
Our client, a high-growth, innovation-led organisation is looking to appoint a Head of Supply Chain at a pivotal point in its journey. This is not a “business-as-usual” leadership role. The foundations are in place, but there is significant opportunity to shape, build and mature the function as the business scales towards ambitious growth targets over the next 3–5 years.
If you enjoy operating in an environment where you can genuinely leave a mark rather than simply maintain the status quo, then this is an opportunity worth exploring.
The Opportunity
You will take ownership of a multi-disciplinary supply chain function, spanning procurement, planning and customer order fulfilment, with a clear mandate to improve capability, structure and performance. The role will require a balance of strategic leadership and hands-on delivery. You’ll be equally comfortable setting direction as you are stepping in to resolve day-to-day operational challenges.
Key areas of focus will include:
- Developing a more robust and scalable planning and procurement structure
- Strengthening supplier strategy and long-term resilience
- Improving cross-functional alignment across operations, engineering and commercial teams
- Enhancing systems and processes, including ongoing ERP development
- Building capability within an established team, raising the overall standard of delivery
The Environment
- Fast-paced, growing organisation with a strong leadership team.
- A culture that values pace, agility and pragmatism over bureaucracy.
- Significant investment in infrastructure, systems and capacity to support future growth.
- A business transitioning from a stable past into a high-growth, forward-looking operation
What We’re Looking For
- This role will suit a supply chain leader who thrives in environments where things aren’t fully formed and sees that as an opportunity.
- Proven experience leading and evolving supply chain functions within a complex manufacturing or engineering-led environment
- A track record of building or transforming processes, systems or teams
- Strong ERP/MRP understanding, ideally with experience of implementation or optimisation
- The ability to operate at both strategic and operational level, switching between the two with ease
- Excellent stakeholder management skills – able to influence demanding internal teams and customers without a “bulldozer” approach
- Experience working with long product lifecycles and complex supply chains
Why Join?
- A genuine opportunity to shape the future of a growing organisation
- High level of visibility and influence within the leadership team
- A role offering both immediate impact and long-term legacy
- Flexible, hybrid working model
