An established and fast-growing manufacturing SME is seeking a commercially astute Head of Supply Chain to take ownership of end-to-end supply chain operations and support the next phase of business growth.
Reporting directly to the COO and operating as a key member of the Senior Management Team, this role will lead procurement and supply chain activities, with full accountability for performance, cost control, service levels. You will play a critical role in ensuring the supply chain supports both current operations and future growth ambitions.
This is a highly hands-on, SME-focused leadership role, suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance strategic thinking with day-to-day operational delivery. You will drive commercial decision-making, embed continuous improvement, develop high-performing teams, and implement robust, agile supply chain strategies that directly impact profitability and customer outcomes.
Description
The role of Head of Supply Chain & Operations will be responsible for:
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business goals.
- Oversee procurement processes to ensure cost efficiency and quality standards.
- Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts effectively.
- Lead and mentor teams across supply chain and operations functions.
- Monitor and improve operational performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimise end-to-end supply chain processes.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks within the supply chain
Profile
A successful Head of Supply Chain & Operations should have:
- Strong expertise in procurement and supply chain management within the industrial/manufacturing sector.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Experience in supplier negotiations and contract management.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
