It owns and manages a substantial portfolio of over 800 commercial and residential properties, primarily concentrated in central London, with additional holdings across England, Scotland, and Wales.
This role is based within the in-house Commercial Property Management team at modern offices in Angel and offers the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative and growing organisation.
Role Purpose
The Group Health & Safety Assistant will support the oversight and continuous improvement of Health & Safety (H&S) standards across the organisation's commercial properties and Head Office. Working closely with the Group Health & Safety Manager, you will help ensure full compliance with statutory regulations while promoting a strong safety culture across all departments and the wider property portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety Coordination & Compliance
- Assist in liaising with external H&S consultants and attend quarterly review meetings.
- Participate in quarterly Health & Safety Committee meetings to ensure ongoing compliance and awareness.
- Support coordination with asbestos and legionella consultants and Property Managers.
- Assist in maintaining full H&S compliance across the entire property portfolio.
- Help compile and manage statutory compliance documentation.
Training & Systems Management
- Monitor and ensure all staff H&S training is up to date and renewed within required timeframes.
- Support the administration and maintenance of H&S software systems,
- Provide guidance to staff, contractors, and tenants on H&S matters where required.
Policy, Risk & Contractor Management
- Assist in reviewing and updating company H&S policies and management plans.
- Support the tender process for H&S-related surveys, including:
- Fire & General Risk Assessments
- Water Hygiene Risk Assessments
- Asbestos Surveys
- Help manage the Approved Contractor List (ACL).
- Ensure appropriate emergency procedures are developed and implemented
Monitoring, Reporting & Improvement
- Assist in incident reporting processes, including RIDDOR submissions.
- Support the resolution of Priority 1 issues identified within internal systems (e.g., Meridian).
- Promote continuous improvement in H&S standards
- Keep staff informed of updates to CDM regulations.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential:
- NEBOSH General Certificate
Desirable:
- Level 3 NVQ in Health & Safety or equivalent
- IOSH Managing Safely Certification
Experience
Essential:
- 1–2 years’ experience in a Health & Safety support role (preferably multi-site or group level)
Desirable:
- Experience working within commercial and residential property environments
Knowledge
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience with H&S/property management systems
