We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Health and Social Care Lecturer to join our successful curriculum team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator or industry professional to support learners in achieving their academic and career goals.
Based in Brighton, you will deliver engaging and high-quality teaching across a range of Health and Social Care programmes, helping students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence required for further study and employment within the sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Health and Social Care lessons across Levels 1-3 (and higher levels where applicable).
- Assess student work, provide constructive feedback and monitor learner progress.
- Support students to achieve their academic potential through high-quality teaching and pastoral guidance.
- Develop and maintain high-quality learning resources using a variety of teaching methods.
- Promote equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding throughout all teaching activities.
- Maintain accurate student records, attendance and assessment documentation.
- Participate in curriculum development, quality assurance activities and departmental meetings.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the learner experience and maintain excellent standards.
Essential Requirements
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care, Nursing, Public Health, Social Work or a related discipline.
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training) or willingness to work towards one.
- Experience teaching Health and Social Care in a Further Education or similar educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of current Health and Social Care practices and qualifications.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusive education.
Desirable
- Experience delivering BTEC, NCFE, CACHE or T Level Health qualifications.
- Recent industry experience within the Health and Social Care sector.
- Experience supporting learners with diverse educational needs.
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent.
