Reed Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering & Manufacturing company 

About the Role

The role involves supporting the heat treatment of components, along with cutting and preparing specialist alloy products. This is a hands-on position in a technical manufacturing environment, ideal for someone who values quality, safety, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out heat treatment activities in line with technical instructions.
  • Programme and operate furnace control systems.
  • Safely handle materials using overhead cranes and forklift trucks.
  • Operate Brinell hardness testing equipment.
  • Assist with large and small sawing operations.
  • Update job records and bookings using the internal system.
  • Support dispatch of materials where required.
  • Complete daily safety, quality, and compliance checks.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and 5S.
  • Follow all company health and safety procedures.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience operating overhead cranes and FLTs
  • Experience of working with metals within a manufacturing environment such as heat treatment, forging, melting etc 
  • Background in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments.
  • Positive attitude towards safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good timekeeping, attendance, and personal discipline.
  • Work with specialist equipment in a skilled engineering environment.
  • Be part of a supportive, safety-driven team.
  • Opportunity to contribute to improvement and development activities.

The position also includes a bonus of up to 10% OTE £4,300 on top of your salary
